Improvaganza 2005 - Day 3

I photographed the 8pm and 11pm Improvaganza 2005 shows for June 7th, day 3. All were shot with the D2X at ISO 800, 17-55/2.8 at F/2.8 and various shutter speeds and focal lengths. All RAW conversion was done with Rawshooter Essentials. No post processing outside of Rawshooter other than web scaling. That means black and white conversion was also done in Rawshooter. Arlan (left) and Drazen. They aren't twins . . . and those are Oli's glasses. This photo was Joe's idea. Drazen (still not spelled quite right) is one of two performers representing Slovenia and Teater Narobov.

Nice photos! I like using Rawshooter for b&w conversion too. Very convenient. What other adjustments do you make in Rawshooter? I still find it less intuitive than Photoshop/ACR, but definitely faster for batch processing.

Kevin, thanks for dropping by. How did you find this site?

I usually avoid using a raw converter to do B&W conversions but due to time constraints I was forced to. There are about 2000 more photos I'm uploading over the next couple of days and I also have at least two or three blog entries to get caught up plus piles of printing. The Rawshooter interface is actually very intuitive once you get into it . . . it's meant for assembly-line style batch processing, though. You don't find many of the fine adjustement settings in Photoshop to correct for individual colour channels and stuff. I will be using ACR shortly, though but it just happened that CS1's ACR didn't support D2X NEF's. Which camera(s) are you using?

Dear Klyment, first let me say that you are great and that you make wondeful photos. Second let me say that Droggan is actually spelled Drazen. Third let me ask you whether you are planning to put more photos up? I would be very very happy if you would add the photos from all the performances. At least a few photos from every performance. Maja, thanks for commenting. =) I'll change my spelling of Drazen's name right away. Thanks. =) There are lots more photos to go up. I intend to upload every photo that I convert. Opening night and day 3 are already done. You can see them at http://klyment.com/gallery2 under "Events" and "Improvaganza". I haven't linked it up officially yet as I'm still experimenting with this system and I haven't customized the interface yet so it looks much like how it would look right out of the box. I'll also be adding blog entries with some of the better photos from each night. =) Thanks again for your comments. As always, feedback is sincerely appreciated and deeply valued.
